What is life? Scientists are still debating what exactly is life. Does a virus have life? What if man never sinned? Where would man be today? What is God’s purpose with man? The bible shows us that all these matters are related to life. The crucial element in the bible is life. Crucial meaning decisive, critical to the success of something. Join us in our exploring the bible to know what is life.
Genesis 1 is a renown chapter. Even unbelievers have an idea of what is in this chapter: God’s creation in seven days. What is hidden, however, is how that life is successive. It begins with the lowest life form, and ends with the highest life form. Hidden in this mystery is the meaning of life.

Beginning at the third day, at the end of each day God would behold His creation and be happy, saying something like, “and God saw that it was good.” But, at the end of the sixth day, after creating man it reads that “it was very good.” What changed? What changed was that for the first time in His creation there was something that bore His image, and thus could represent Him in His dominion!
To interpret the bible properly we must pay attention to an item’s first mention. When we think of God’s commandments to man we firstly think of the ten commandments. The duties of a Christian. But, in actuality the first thing that God commanded man to do was to eat: “And Jehovah God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden you may eat freely.” (Gen. 2:16) Come and see what this means spiritually!
At the core what is God after? Taking God in by eating and drinking Him is at the core of God’s message to man. Without it nothing can be accomplished of God’s plan.
In the garden of Eden man is put before two trees: The tree of life, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. It is often forgotten that the second tree is not only the tree of the knowledge of evil, but of good also. If good is embodied in the second tree, then what is it?
God wants to save man. That is a forgone conclusion. But, what does this mean? Does it merely mean that man would not be bad? That man would not get caught up in drugs?
The life that a believer has received from God by believing into Him is a life that requires growth and development. That development is not primarily on God’s side, but on man’s side. God expects this life to be developed. So, how do we develop this life? Come and see.
