Overview

The record of creation in Genesis contains many details on how God created the universe. But there are many aspects of the universe that are missing in this record. Why? The Bible is a book of life, not just a book of facts! God’s intention is to convey Himself as life to man, and we can see this even in the way God created every item in the universe.

Day One

The record of creation in Genesis begins with God commanding there to be light in the universe. What does this mean for us? Something more than just physical light. Just like the origin of the universe, we were in a dark situation until one day God’s light shines and saved us!

Day Two

On Day Two in God’s restoration of the earth, there was a separation between the waters above from the waters below. This signifies the separation from the earthly things and heavenly things when we receive Jesus. The way to develop this inward separation is to daily practice minding the things of God setting our minds on Him.

Day Three

On Day Three, dry land appeared. It’s not a coincidence that dry land appears on the third day. In the Bible, something special happened on a particular “third day”, Jesus arose from the dead. The dry land appearing is actually a picture of Christ emerging from death to and generating life in His believers!

Day Four

On Day Four, God created the great light bearers, the sun, the moon, and the stars. These light bearers represent different aspects of our experience of Christ as His life continues to grow in us. As we experience being separated from earthly things, His light shines us in order for more of His life to grow in us!

Day Five

On Day Five, God created various forms of life. From the plant life, to the sea life, and to animal life on dry land, we see a progression of higher life forms. This is a picture of how our growth as Christians happens in stages. Each stage is a higher and deeper experience of Christ than before.

Day Six

After creating various forms of life, God created man on the sixth day. After this, God saw what He made and He said it was “very good”. This is significant! In this message we explore the depths of this marvelous step in God’s restoration and further creation.

Day Seven

On the seventh day after God’s restoration and further creation, He rested. This rest is what the Bible reveals is the Sabbath. In this message we explore what the true meaning of this rest is.
