Women in Christ’s Genealogy
Jesus Christ is a wonderful Person! In His genealogy we see how God used many different people to bring forth the Savior of the world. Moreover, the ones in His genealogy paint a picture that regardless of our background, we can be used by God to bring forth Christ in our daily living, and ultimately to the earth the second time. In this series, we focus on the women in Christ’s genealogy!
Tamar
The first woman named in Christ’s genealogy is Tamar. In reviewing her life it may seem that she took unrighteous means to acquire God’s promise, but the Bible later reveals that what she did was counted as righteous. From her we learn that God desires us to be desperate to receive His promised blessings.
Rahab
Rahab is a well known figure in the Bible. She is primarily known for believing in the God of Israel even though she was a Gentile who had a sinful lifestyle. She also allowed God’s army to enter into her city and carry out God’s judgement upon it. From her we can learn many lessons about having faith in God and aligning ourselves with God’s will.
Ruth (Live Broadcast – 8/9/26)
Ruth, a woman from a tribe of people cursed by God, chose to have the God of Israel as her God, and God’s people as her people, and even to die with God’s people. Ruth eventually became one of God’s people through marriage, and gave birth to one of Christ’s most important ancestors. In her we see a very important principle in the Bible that if we choose God and His people, no matter what our background may be, God will redeem us, bring us into His household, and make our life count towards Christ coming to the earth.
Bathsheba (Live Broadcast – 8/16/26)
In the case of Bathsheba, we see a seemingly dark spot in the genealogy of Christ. Bathsheba was the wife of Uriah, the Hittite, and she was unjustly taken from her husband by David, King of Israel. Although this is a dark part of the lineage, there is a bright side; the birth of their son Solomon. Solomon was the issue of David’s repentance plus God’s forgiveness, and he was greatly used by God and even was a type of Christ. From the account of Bathsheba we learn the importance of having a repentant heart before God.
Mary (Live Broadcast – 8/23/26)
The last woman mentioned in Christ’s genealogy is Mary, the mother of Jesus. Mary was a chosen vessel used by God to physically bring forth the Savior of the world to the earth. What qualified Mary for this responsibility was the kind of person she was before God, and we can be the same kinds of persons today. She was someone who feared the Lord, was filled with His Word, and believed the Lord’s Word.
Who We Are
We are believers in Jesus Christ who have received Him as our Savior.
He is the most excellent and enjoyable Person! We love Him and endeavor to give Him the first place in all things. We rejoice to be cleansed by the blood of Jesus, partake of the divine life, be filled with the Holy Spirit, and be brought into the fellowship of the Body of Christ.
What We Believe
We hold the faith common to all believers (Titus 1:4 Jude 1:3)
The Bible
The Bible is the complete divine revelation inspired word-by-word by God through the Holy Spirit – 2 Peter 1:21, 2 Timothy 3:16
Redemption
Jesus died on the cross for our sins, shedding His blood for our redemption – 1 Peter 2:24, Ephesians 1:7a
Salvation Through Faith
Whenever any person repents to God and believes in the Lord Jesus Christ, he is regenerated (born again) and becomes a living member of the one Body of Christ – Acts 20:21, John 3:3, Ephesians 1:22-23, Romans 12:5

God Created Man to Express Him
God desires to express Himself through man (Gen. 1:26). For this purpose, He created man in His own image and made him as a vessel to contain Him (Rom. 8:29).
Man Fell and Jesus Christ Redeemed
But before man could receive God into him, sin entered into him (Rom. 5:12). Nevertheless, Jesus Christ died on the cross to take away his sin and bring him back to God (John 1:29; Eph. 2:13).
God is Spreading in the Hearts of His Believers
After a believer receives Christ, God begins the lifelong process of gradually spreading Himself as life from the believer’s spirit, into his soul and body (1 Thess. 5:23). This causes man to express God and fulfill his true purpose.
