Basic instructions before leaving earth. Is this what the Bible is all about? In a sense, yes, but there’s something more. The Bible is a romance. It reveals that God’s heart’s desire is for His people not only to serve Him, obey Him, and fear Him, but firstly love Him!
Bookends of the Bible
The Bible is a romance! It begins with a marriage, and ends with a marriage. In the beginning we see Adam finding a counterpart in Eve typifying Christ finding the church as His counterpart. In the end we see Christ marrying the church.
The Divine Romance in the Old Testament
The Divine Romance is seen all throughout the Bible. Even in the Old Testament times, the Bible reveals God’s desire for a counterpart, one who would match Him.
