In these series we will explore 9 cases in the gospel of John that reveal that the divine life of God meets every single need. We may think our complicated problems and cases are not seen in the Bible, but in the gospel of John we see a life which can meet all of our needs.
The ninth case is the need of the dead. Humanity as a whole is in a death situation. Only Christ as the resurrection life can bring us out of this miserable condition.
The eighth case is the need of the blind. We are all blind walking on this earth in because of death. The Lord came to open their eyes, to turn from darkness to light. This is changing from death to life.
The seventh case is the need of those who are under the bondage of sin. Who is without sin? We all are under its bondage and slaves to its lust. In this case we see the Lord’s charge to go and sin no more, and how this can only be accomplished through the truth that sets us free.
The sixth case is the need of the thirsty. After you get what you wanted, after you attain to your goals, are you still seeking for satisfaction? In this case we see that only the life of Jesus can truly satisfy us.
The fifth case is the need of the hungry. Do we feel weak, empty, longing for something to nourish us? We are born hungry, its normal to be hungry. However in this case we see God desires to be mans food supply, to give life and meet the hungry man’s need.
The fourth case is the need of the impotent. We try to fill our lives with holy things that we think will heal us, but what we really need is to come to Jesus, the only one who can give life.
The third case is the need of the dying. We all need to hear a living word from the Lord that we would believe in His healing life.
The second case is the need of the immoral. This is the woman at the well. She also needed the life of God.
The first case in the gospel of John is Nicodemus. He was the highest moral man, and yet he still needed Gods life.
